This magazine has a rock genre (containing a mixture of different types of rock music such as indie, alternative rock,
hard rock, metal, emo and many more)
The masthead is in a bright reddish colour which does two things. The first effect that the mastheads colour does is how it like gives a warning/danger theme. as if its trying to say that this magazine is for the 'daring' kind. the other effect that it gives is the fact that its on a black background makes the masthead really stand out with the contrast of colours. another effect that the black colours give is like a rebellious theme.
This magazine covers skyline is listed with the names of bands, telling you what to expect in the magazine.
Within the main image of the members of the band Madina lake you can see that there all wearing dark cloths, which blends in the background. the dark colours also makes the band members look as if there in a way 'dark' themselves. As in dark spirited as a way to put it. (showing the relation to the music genre)
The colour scheme sticks with three colours, red, yellow and black, showing that its professional as it is capable of making such an effecting magazine with just 3 colours. used with contrasting colours that allows the magazine to stand out, trying to sell itself.
Sinister type of writing, with the curls and flicks, along with the almost blood red colour
The magazine has a dark sinister look to it.
A kicker that makes the readers wonder what will be spoken about Madina lake
Strap lines being list of band names, showing that the magazine has variety.Along with strap images of well known bands.
The feature that stands out the most on the magazine is the bands name, the reason for this is to highlight the main importance of this magazines issue.
The repitition of one in the kicker makes it appear that this band themself is 'number one', making them the appear the most important thing in this magazine.
